Base Salary (Starting/Initial): $40,000 – $90,000 per year. Tenured Base Salary: $40,000 – $110,000 per year.
Commission: 50% – 150% of monthly recurring charges, 1/12 of one‑time charges, 1/24 of burst MRC.
- Identify new business opportunities within a prescribed Regional Sales Territory and target IP Transit, content hosting, carrier wholesale, and net‑centric segments.
- Conduct direct calling, email, and contact efforts to qualify and generate new opportunities with key decision makers.
- Engage prospects through onsite customer meetings as needed.
- Apply consultative selling and relationship‑building techniques to present current and future connectivity solutions.
- Position Cogent services for new business by leveraging the global network footprint, including commercial buildings, carrier‑neutral hotels, data centers, and colocation facilities.
- 3–8+ years of solid B2B sales experience in telecom, wholesale, and data transit/transport.
- Track record of success in direct hunting, B2B sales, and quota achievement.
- Proven ability to identify, qualify, and generate new business through extensive prospecting and research.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team environment with revenue deadlines.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and a CRM.
- A college degree is preferred but not required.
