Mile High Deck Supply is Denver’s fastest-growing deck and outdoor living materials supplier. We are a locally owned, growth-driven company built to serve professional deck builders, contractors, and serious DIY homeowners with premium products and elite service.

We stock one of the largest selections of Trex decking and railing in the Denver market, along with framing lumber, hardware, railing systems, pergolas, and outdoor living products.

MHDS is a sister company to Custom Decks (30 years in business) and Outside Wholesale (multi‑state pergola distributor). We are not a big-box store. We are building a disciplined, contractor-focused sales organization designed to scale aggressively over the next five years.

Role Description

This is not an account maintenance role.

We are looking for a true Business Development “Hunter” — someone who wakes up energized by opening new accounts, winning competitors’ customers, and driving top-line revenue growth.

You will be responsible for:

  • Prospecting and opening new contractor accounts throughout the Denver Metro area
  • Identifying high-volume deck builders and converting them to MHDS
  • Cold calling, jobsite visits, relationship building, and structured follow‑up
  • Developing territory growth plans and executing daily outbound activity
  • Working closely with inside sales and operations to onboard and support new accounts
  • Tracking KPIs, pipeline activity, and revenue growth targets

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3+ years of outside sales or business development experience
  • Proven track record of opening new accounts (not just servicing existing ones)
  • Strong prospecting and cold outreach skills
  • Highly organized and self‑directed
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred:

  • Experience in lumber, building materials, construction supply, or related industries
  • Existing relationships with deck builders or general contractors
  • Experience working in a growth‑stage company
What Success Looks Like

In the first 90 days:

  • Open X new contractor accounts
  • Establish a consistent weekly pipeline rhythm
  • Demonstrate disciplined activity metrics (calls, visits, follow‑ups)

In year one:

  • Drive significant new revenue growth
  • Become the go‑to resource for contractors in your territory
  • Help define the structure of our future sales team
