Advertising Executive

The magazine is read by more than 335,500 people each month in print, digital, newsletters and through social media. Our events are always some of the hottest tickets in town.

As our brand expands across the city, our sales team is ready to grow as well. That's where you come into the picture. We are hiring a professional sales person to deliver meaningful revenue for the company. You will work alongside some of the most seasoned, successful media sales professionals in the industry. We want someone who can not only keep up, but help set the pace for our growth.

Primary Responsibilities

• Drive revenue across our offerings (magazine, digital, creative services and event sponsorship) while meeting and exceeding monthly sales goals
• Manage an active account portfolio while also adding to your book of business by building a pipeline of new prospects.
• Identify key advertising placement decision-makers and initiate and pursue productive, consultative relationships with local and national accounts
• Maintain a high-volume of sales calls each week with clients and agencies to develop, present, and close revenue
• Create compelling multimedia proposals and sponsorship packages
• Use various sales tools, presentations, research, marketing and other resources to help effectively deliver sales messaging to clients
• Attend networking, community, and client events and provide a strong representation of the 5280 brand
• Generate ideas for new initiatives and new categories of business
• Work directly with the Publisher, Advertising Director, and Marketing Director to develop custom programs for existing and new clients
• Maintain and grow CRM database

Qualifications and Characteristics

• 3-5 years of media sales experience, with digital media experience preferred
• Strong aptitude for selling high growth digital products and platforms
• Self-motivated individual who is skilled at uncovering new prospects
• Competitive spirit - you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy chasing down leads
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
• Hyper-organized and able to manage a large volume of accounts
• Able to work well both independently and with a team in a collaborative environment

Salary:
Competitive base with uncapped commissions. Compensation guarantee negotiated based on experience and existing business relationships.

• Total Estimated Compensation Range: $60,000–$85,000
• Guaranteed commission of $1,500/month for first three months of employment ($4,500 total)
• Base: $36,450
• Uncapped Commissions
