Overview
Nationwide’s Property and Casualty team seeks a Territory Manager – Personal Lines to drive profitability with personal lines distribution partners across the South Denver Metro/Colorado Springs territory.
The role requires frequent travel within the territory with in‑person engagement with agency partners and a strong background in independent agency distribution channel. Candidates must reside within the assigned territory. This position does not qualify for employer‑sponsored work authorization.
Key Responsibilities- Understand the strategic and operational goals of the territory and partners to identify mutually beneficial solutions using data, analytics, local market information, and competitor knowledge.
- Proactively identify and implement actions to achieve territory goals.
- Lead new business and transfer processes, including appointment identification, expectation setting, and delivering on commitments.
- Leverage tools and resources (e.g., Salesforce, Seismic, dashboards, and reporting) to increase operational efficiency.
- Gather partner feedback and share continuous‑improvement opportunities with business partners.
- Collaborate with personal lines and farm geography partners, and other Nationwide counterparts such as claims and servicing, on problem solving, education, and sales practice reviews.
- Complete annual planning, document agreements in Salesforce, and hold partners accountable to those agreements.
- Partner with Product, Marketing and other business groups to identify and act on territory opportunities.
- Lead portfolio‑management meetings to align partners with territory goals and monitor portfolio data to drive profitability and revenue growth.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Undergraduate degree in general business, insurance, sales, marketing or related field (degree preferred).
- Eight to ten years of sales or sales‑management experience, preferably in property casualty or financial services.
- Strong background in independent agency distribution channel and carrier‑side sales management experience.
- Proven ability to lead through influence and drive top‑line performance.
- Ability to manage complexity, uncover root causes, evaluate risks/benefits, and adapt behavior in the moment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience breaking down objectives into initiatives and actions, and driving results through persuasion and collaboration.
- Strong focus on customer/distribution‑partner relationships and accountability for metrics.
Reports to Sales Associate Vice President or Vice President; this is an individual‑contributor role.
Job ConditionsFrequent travel with periodic overnight stays required. Must hold a valid driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record. Exempt from overtime.
