New Business Market Development Manager – CO & WY
Location:
Denver, CO (on site). This full‑time position focuses on increasing Ace Hardware's market share through new store growth, conversions, and acquisitions within Colorado and Wyoming.
- Recruit, educate, and motivate potential candidates, including sales, new investors, existing Ace retailers, and competitor conversion or acquisition prospects.
- Lead the business development process from Interest‑to‑Application, including demographic work, trade potential analysis, sales forecasting, and site audits.
- Create market plans, proformas, and secure approval from stakeholders; execute letters of intent and assist with financing.
- Assess prospect business acumen, character, competence, and financial viability; determine when to proceed or decline opportunities.
- Engage with lenders, brokers, and public relations to pursue every opportunity in the market.
- Collaborate with Retail Operations, Director, Regional Manager, Project Manager, and District Manager to create momentum and advocate for Ace.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in retail, franchising, real estate, or market development.
- College degree in business preferred but not required.
- Proven ability to develop, secure and close new store or conversion opportunities.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills; ability to present to investors, brokers, lenders and retailers.
- Business acumen: understand economics, financials, capitalization, financing, lease negotiation and the balance of store density versus cannibalization.
- Understanding of franchise competitors and how to position Ace uniquely.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Willingness to work flexible hours and travel up to 3–4 nights per week.
Salary range: $103,000 – $128,600 per year (based on experience and education).
