We’re recruiting a senior Business Development leader for a fast-growing space communications company delivering flight-qualified radio communications systems and end-to-end comms for satellites and space vehicles. Their products are commercially available, shipping today, and already operating in orbit with multiple launches this year.
The company supports some of the most advanced defense and intelligence space programs, working directly with U.S. Government customers including the DoW and Intelligence Community. Their technology is gaining strong traction across mission-critical communications, where reliability, speed of deployment, and technical credibility are key. As growth accelerates, they are doubling down on government and defense business development.
As Director / Senior Director of Business Development – Government
, you’ll own revenue growth across U.S. Government customers. This is a senior individual-contributor role with clear progression toward building and leading a government BD team. You’ll drive capture strategy, navigate non-traditional procurement pathways, and establish deep relationships across defense and intelligence stakeholders.
- Own and grow revenue across DoW and Intelligence Community customers
- Lead capture strategy across BAAs, SBIRs, OTAs, and larger contract vehicles
- Navigate complex government procurement environments and funding pathways
- Position the company’s technology within mission-critical communications programs
- Identify and secure early-stage opportunities through non-traditional contracting routes
- Work closely with Sales Engineering, program teams, and leadership on proposals and technical engagements
- Improve on the groundwork set to grow the government BD function as revenue scale
- Proven experience selling into the U.S. Government (IC, DoW inc likes of Space Force, Air Force etc)
- Strong understanding of government procurement pathways (BAAs, OTAs, etc.)
- Experience managing long sales cycles and complex capture processes
- Track record of securing wins across government-funded programs
- Background selling hardware, software, or integrated systems into defense or space environments
- Ability to operate credibly with both technical and procurement stakeholders
- RF, radio, communications, or related technical background preferred
- Flight-proven, revenue-generating product already in orbit
- Strong momentum across defense and intelligence customers
- Strategic role with ownership of U.S. Government growth
