Position Summary
Leads a regional sales team to drive profitable growth, disciplined sales execution, strong customer relationships, and consistent performance against Sheffield Metals’ commercial and operational objectives. Partners with Branch Managers, Inside Sales, Pricing, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Operations to support customer growth, pricing discipline, service alignment, and branch-level operating performance.

Partners with Branch Managers, Inside Sales, Pricing, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Operations to support customer growth, pricing discipline, service alignment, and branch-level operating performance.
Job Duties- Lead, coach, and develop a regional team of outside sales professionals.
- Reinforce Sheffield’s sales process from prospecting and account development through quoting, follow-up, and customer relationship management.
- Set expectations for territory planning, customer coverage, CRM usage, pipeline management, pricing discipline, forecast accuracy, and follow-through.
- Conduct one-on-ones, ride-alongs, pipeline reviews, deal reviews, and performance check-ins with direct reports.
- Develop regional plans that support profitable growth, product mix, and operational objectives.
- Monitor regional KPIs, including activity, quote activity, pipeline health, forecast accuracy, customer growth, retention, margin trends, product mix, and accessory attachment.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, strategic accounts, and high-potential prospects.
- Partner with Branch Managers, Pricing, Inside Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations to support profitable regional and branch-level performance.
- Reinforce pricing discipline and ensure sales decisions align with pricing strategy, margin expectations, customer value, competition, and service capabilities.
- Share demand signals, project outlook, market feedback, competitive activity, and upcoming opportunities with branch and cross-functional partners.
- Partner with Marketing and Product resources to support regional campaigns, product launches, customer education, events, and market-specific growth initiatives.
- Represent Sheffield Metals professionally in the field and perform other duties as assigned.
A high school diploma or GED is required; an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Marketing, or related discipline;
In the absence of a degree, directly related job experience serving in an industrial sales management role, where a number of years and proven knowledge may offset the degree requirement.
- At least 8 years of prior industrial sales experience with proven experience meeting and exceeding sales goals.
- Prior experience managing, coaching, or leading field-based sales professionals.
- Experience in metal roofing, painted metals, building products, distribution, manufacturing, or construction-related industries is a plus.
- Proven ability to build effective customer relationships across multiple levels of an organization.
- Strong commercial judgment with the ability to balance customer needs, pricing discipline, service requirements, and long-term profitability.
- Ability to prepare and interpret reports related to forecasts, pipeline, customer activity, market trends, competitor activity, and new product opportunities.
- Demonstrated experience using CRM systems to manage activities, opportunities, account plans, customer communication, and sales performance.
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills with Branch Managers, Inside Sales, Pricing, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Operations.
- Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, disciplined, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Must be able to lift or pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen, and E-Verify.
Demonstrate safe work habits while traveling, visiting customers, visiting branches, and participating in plant or jobsite activities. Follow all company safety policies, ensure direct reports understand applicable safety requirements, and promptly report injuries, incidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions.
