Job Overview
Responsible for profitable business development and monitoring an extensive existing portfolio of companies with annual gross sales of at least $10 million, focusing on higher revenue customers (at least $20 million). Leverages relationships with One Bank Partners to create and implement a strategy for assigned clients and prospects.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and develop profitable new lead client relationships, leveraging centers of influence, existing clients, and referral sources.
- Develop and implement a business plan to achieve financial goals and qualitative measures.
- Collaborate with Fifth Third internal partners to deepen existing relationships and acquire new prospective relationships.
- Attend community and industry forums, conferences, and meetings to broaden relationship networks and stay informed on trends, practices, services, and competitive landscape.
- Work with product partners (Treasury Management, Capital Markets, Wealth Management, etc.) to analyze, evaluate, and develop a tailored relationship strategy for each client or prospect.
- Ensure customer relationships are managed to maximize opportunity for the bank while considering risk and customer needs.
- Meet with customers regularly to enhance trusted advisor relationships and ensure business needs are met.
- Utilize consultative selling skills, commercial playbook principles, and call reporting plans to enhance client experience.
- Use the Bank's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system for client activity tracking, call reports, and pipeline management.
- Analyze financial information to determine appropriate credit requests.
- Monitor ongoing customer financial performance, condition, and industry trends to assure acceptable risk and pricing.
- Partner with Portfolio Managers and Credit Officers on credit requests following Portfolio Management guidelines.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business (Business Administration, Finance, Accounting) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 6 years Commercial Banking experience, at least 5 years of sales experience.
- Formalized commercial credit training or equivalent credit experience.
- Underwriting experience preferred.
- Proven partnership with investment bankers for strategic and capital market advice.
- Track record of building new and existing client business, increasing revenue, and delivering positive client experience.
- Strong business acumen, detailed financial statement analysis, and understanding of accounting principles.
- Knowledge of Commercial, Treasury Management, alternative lending and financing options.
- Ability to assess client needs, profitability drivers, and life cycle to optimize financial solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in face to face negotiations.
- Team based sales environment skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with prospecting and CRM sales tools preferred.
- Regional local travel acceptable.
Normal office environment with limited exposure to dust, noise, temperature variations. Frequent travel possible depending on assignment.
CompensationCommercial Relationship Manager Total Base Pay Range $ - $ USD annually. Eligibility for an incentive compensation plan based on performance. Benefits include comprehensive programs covering physical, financial, emotional, and social well-being.
