The Chief Strategic Partnerships and Business Development Officer is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and securing new revenue opportunities that advance the agency's mission and strategic goals. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, this position represents the organizational culture and collaborates closely with senior and executive leadership as well as program leaders. The Chief Strategic Partnerships and Business Development Officer develops and manages relationships with corporate partners, nonprofit agencies, community stakeholders, government entities, and other strategic partners to increase funding, expand services, and enhance organizational impact, supporting long‑term organizational success.
Essential Functions:Strategic Growth and Sustainability
- Develop, operationalize, and maintain a comprehensive short- and long-term business development strategy to diversify revenue.
- Identify and pursue new funding opportunities, partnerships, sponsor ships, and earned revenue initiatives.
- Evaluate market trends and emerging opportunities that support mission growth through revenue-generating opportunities.
- Lead feasibility assessments and business planning efforts for strategic growth opportunities.
- Advise senior leadership on revenue growth opportunities, trends, and risks.
- Monitor trends affecting nonprofit sustainability and recommend innovative approaches to sustainable business development.
- Establish, build, and strengthen meaningful employer and partnership relationships, identifying employer hiring practices, staffing, and training needs, referral possibilities for mental health, and integrated group worksite opportunities for clients with disabilities.
- Market JFS services to employers and other partners, including coordinating multi-program employer meetings.
- Conduct market landscape analysis to determine new lines of business and identify risks and opportunities in the labor market.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective employers, partners, and community collaborators.
- Represent the organization with stakeholders at networking events, conferences, and community meetings.
- Negotiate and manage partnership agreements and pursue sponsorship opportunities.
- Serve as a trusted ambassador for the organization and its mission.
- Foster relationships that enhance organizational visibility, influence, and revenue-generating opportunities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to diversify revenue aligned with agency priorities.
- Partner with Program Leadership, Accounting, and Development to diversify and grow organizational revenue.
- Develop new funding models and partnership opportunities that advance mission delivery.
- Partner with program and senior leadership to identify growth opportunities.
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing and launching new initiatives.
- Provide regular reports and forecasts on pipeline activity, partnership development, and revenue generation.
- Contribute to strategic planning and organizational growth discussions.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue growth, partnerships, and business development activities.
- Maintain accurate records of prospects, opportunities, and partnership outcomes.
- Analyze results and adjust strategies to achieve organizational goals.
- Bachelor's/master’s degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Marketing, Communications, related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, sales, or nonprofit leadership.
- Knowledge of corporate partnerships, and nonprofit business models.
- Proven financial management, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
- Presentation and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in proposal writing.
- Demonstrated success in generating revenue, securing partnerships, or developing new business opportunities.
