The Outside Sales Representative – Toro Siteworks (Dingo) is responsible for driving sales growth, expanding market share, and developing long‑term customer relationships throughout an assigned territory. This position serves as the primary sales representative for Toro Siteworks equipment, attachments, and related products by providing consultative equipment solutions to contractors, rental companies, municipalities, utility contractors, golf courses, landscape professionals, and other commercial customers.
This is a field‑based sales position requiring daily customer interaction, equipment demonstrations, business development, and territory management. Success in this role is measured by revenue growth, market penetration, customer retention, activity levels, and overall customer satisfaction.
The Outside Sales Representative is expected to represent LL Johnson professionally while delivering exceptional customer service and acting as a trusted advisor to customers.
Sales & Business Development- Prospect, qualify, develop, and close new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
- Maintain a disciplined sales process that consistently generates new opportunities and increases market share.
- Conduct a minimum of two (2) in‑person customer visits per day
. - Complete at least two (2) equipment demonstrations per week
. - Perform a minimum of 15 prospecting calls per week to new and existing customers.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline consisting of 10–15 qualified opportunities at all times.
- Prepare accurate quotations and proposals while negotiating pricing within company guidelines.
- Achieve or exceed assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales objectives.
- Develop and execute monthly territory business plans aligned with company goals.
- Build and maintain long‑term relationships with contractors, rental companies, municipalities, golf courses, utility contractors, and commercial customers.
- Conduct regular jobsite visits to understand customer applications and recommend equipment solutions.
- Schedule and perform quarterly business reviews with key accounts.
- Follow up on all quotes, demonstrations, deliveries, and customer concerns in a timely manner.
- Serve as the customer's primary point of contact while coordinating with Parts, Service, Rental, and Administration to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally while maintaining strong relationships.
- Perform professional equipment demonstrations showcasing Toro Siteworks equipment and attachment capabilities.
- Develop and maintain expert knowledge of:
- Toro Siteworks compact utility loaders
- Attachments and accessories
- Industry trends
- Financing options
- Recommend equipment packages that improve customer productivity, efficiency, and profitability.
- Stay current on new products, product updates, and competitive offerings.
- Develop and maintain an annual territory growth strategy.
- Visit every rental partner within the assigned territory at least quarterly.
- Identify and develop new contractor, municipal, golf, and rental opportunities.
- Collaborate with Marketing to organize and participate in:
- Customer appreciation events
- Trade shows
- Industry associations
- Training events
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity while communicating market intelligence to management.
- Maintain accurate customer records and opportunity management within the company CRM.
- Submit sales reports, forecasts, call reports, and expense reports on time.
- Prepare monthly pipeline reviews with Sales Management.
- Maintain organized customer files and territory documentation.
- Attend all required sales meetings, training sessions, and company events.
- Ensure all pricing, documentation, and sales processes comply with company policies.
- Work closely with the Parts and Service Departments to ensure customer satisfaction after the sale.
- Coordinate deliveries, equipment setup, and operator training when required.
