Job Description

The Environmental Scientist will assist their assigned supervisor with execution of tasks, production of on-time and high-quality individual work product, and positive coordination with other team members as assigned or requested to produce work product. The Environmental Scientist is responsible for supporting the success of their assigned subpractice area and project as a highest priority. The Environmental Scientist will perform assigned tasks in a manner that models the Company’s core values and inspires and encourages goal achievement through empowerment, learning, and creativity among the team.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct environmental site assessments, remedial investigations, due diligence investigations, compliance audits and property condition assessments.
  • Collect field samples for analysis and remediation planning.
  • Assist with writing detailed client-facing reports including the preparation of accurate data/summary tables, data analysis, statistical analysis and comparison to regulatory compliance standards.
  • Attend meetings with regulatory agencies and assist with developing compliance plans.
  • Assist project managers in the implementation of field work activities for multiple project functions including scheduling and client coordination, equipment acquisition, subcontractor coordination and laboratory services.
  • Assist project managers in meeting milestones, budgetary limits, deadlines, or other performance indicators.
  • Provide analysis of field procedures and improved efficiency processes. Assist in the preparation of proposals.
  • Prepare and implement Health and Safety Plans/Job Safety Analyses for sites.
  • Coordinate with other team members as requested or assigned, monitor own progress on assigned tasks or projects, and ensure high-quality work product produced by self or by collaboration with others.
  • Support assigned Supervisor in monitoring data such as utilization performance vs target, client deadlines, and timesheet data.
  • Meet or exceed defined individual utilization goals as set by company leadership.
  • Coordinate and support other team members with a positive attitude to empower execution.
  • Conduct self in support of achieving objectives and key results (OKRs).
  • Travel as necessary to support client, employee, and leadership needs.
  • Support quality control of service delivery with all individual work product production, maintaining an excellent reputation for quality.
  • Collaborate with other team members to quickly identify and escalate to Supervisor any client, team member or operational challenges.
Operations
  • Be aware of and work in a manner that supports the organization’s vision and defined business objectives.
  • Conduct self and collaborate with others toward achievement of defined project profit objectives.
  • Cooperate in building strong cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals, understanding that multiple perspectives and talents build stronger results.
  • Complete daily tasks consistently.
Qualifications & Competencies
  • Requires 1 year work experience in the functional area at any level.
  • Professional experience in environmental assessment and remediation projects, including ASTM Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Phase II Limited subsurface investigations for due diligence investigations, contaminated site characterization investigations, and remediation program implementation.
  • Working knowledge of ASTM assessment standards.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain 40 hour HAZWOPER and OSHA Construction licenses.
