Position Summary

A Day in the Life:
As an Intern, at our Denver, CO Laboratory, you’ll assist multiple projects and interact with multidisciplinary staff. Compensation: $19.30 per hour (commensurate with experience, skills and geographic location).

Responsibilities
  • Prepare samples for digestion or extraction, including sample login, weighing, making composites, crushing, incremental sampling, product sampling and disposal.
  • Calibrate and pack equipment for use in‑field or in‑lab.
  • Wash glassware.
  • Prepare reagents.
  • Conduct simple water quality assays.
  • Enter data.
  • Perform support tasks as needed.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma; currently enrolled in a local university.
  • Basic laboratory techniques (PPE, balance, pipetting, glassware handling, etc.).
  • Basic Excel skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and work in a team setting.
  • Comfortable working with strong acids and solvents.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Prior laboratory experience preferred but not required for an internship.
  • Knowledge of analytical methods, instruments, general lab practices and safety.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and good communication.
  • Can work in a stationary position for entire shift duration.
  • Can lift and move up to 25lbs independently and 50lbs with assisted equipment.
