Quality Assurance Specialist

The Quality Assurance Specialist supports the quality, compliance, and data integrity of Service Coordination and Durango Shelter programs. This position oversees routine QA monitoring, prepares and conducts Strat Reviews, ensures accurate and timely data entry in Wellsky, AASC online, and HMIS. The role will also serve as the primary QA support for Durango Shelter's emerging review and monitoring processes and function as back-up support for Wellsky/HMIS system operations and data oversight.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct regularly scheduled Quality Assurance (QA) check-ins with program staff.
  • Review client files, service plans, documentation standards, and overall data quality for accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor adherence to HUD, VOAC, and program-specific requirements; identify compliance risks and gaps.
  • Coordinate, prepare, and conduct STRAT Reviews, including establishing and maintaining review cycles for shelter programs.
  • Track findings, corrective actions, and follow-up items to support continuous quality improvement.
  • Perform routine data quality checks in Wellsky, HMIS, AASC Online, and Family Metrics.
  • Provide technical assistance to staff to correct errors, improve workflows, and strengthen data literacy.
  • Develop and maintain QA monitoring tools, including checklists, dashboards, and audit or review forms.
  • Compile performance metrics, monitoring results, and documentation samples; prepare QA reports for leadership.
  • Support program leadership with program evaluations, outcome analysis, and improvement recommendations.
  • Must successfully pass all required background checks and complete mandatory Domestic Violence (DV) training (minimum 15 hours) and any other training required by funders or agency policy for personnel with access to client records and confidential information.
  • Serve as backup to the primary Wellsky Administrator, including training support and access management.
  • Complete reports, analyses, and special projects as requested by the Chief Program Officer.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

Work hours vary depending upon programming requirements and typically maintains at least a 40-hour work week. Regular travel throughout the program's service area (and occasionally statewide, as needed) is required. It can be in various locations. However, the main office will be in the Denver metro area.

Salary Range: $59, annual exempt
