Geologist / Geological Engineer - Denver, CO/ Hybrid,
SRK Consulting is an independent, international consulting practice, providing globally integrated consulting services to the international mining and metals sector.
We are seeking a Geologist / Geological Engineer.
Description of Responsibilities:
- Support geological and geotechnical investigations for mining projects.
- Perform geological mapping, core logging, rock mass characterization, and structural interpretation.
- Evaluate lithology, alteration, discontinuities, faults, bedding, and other geological features relevant to mine design and operations.
- Analyze and interpret geological, geotechnical, geophysical, and spatial datasets.
- Support field investigations, drilling programs, site inspections, and data collection.
- Prepare geological maps, technical figures, analyses, and reports.
- Collaborate with geologists, mining engineers, geotechnical engineers, and other technical specialists.
- Participate in domestic and international site visits and field programs as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in geology, geological engineering, geophysics, or a related geoscience discipline.
- Strong foundation in field geology, structural geology, mineralogy, and rock identification.
- Experience with geological mapping, drill core logging, or rock mass characterization.
- Ability to develop sound geological interpretations from field observations and technical data.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong technical writing and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary consulting environment.
- Capability and fitness for intermittent domestic and international travel and fieldwork.
- Candidates must possess valid authorization to work in the United States.
Your preferred skills and qualifications:
- Master’s degree in geology, geological engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience with GIS, geological modeling, remote sensing, or geophysical interpretation.
- Familiarity with Python or other tools for analysis of geological and spatial data.
- Experience in professional consulting services preferred.
