Provides supervision for at‑risk patients in a hospital environment. The Patient Watch Officer protects staff, patients, and visitors and ensures that all hospital property is secure. These officers patrol the building and its grounds, monitor all activity in and out of the hospital, and endeavor to prevent vandalism, theft, fire, and disturbances within the facility.

Responsibilities- Respond quickly and effectively to emergency and non‑Emergency situations.
- Monitor at‑risk patients for 12‑hour shifts.
- Verbally intervene during crisis situations, establishing rapport with emotionally disturbed people and determining their processing state to provide appropriate support or direction.
- Physically intervene during crises: restrain individuals with trained knowledge under stress, meet physical demands in containment, and ensure minimal injury while maintaining compliance.
- Escort persons and assist client personnel.
- Remain constantly alert, awake, and vigilant for activities that could result in injury or property loss.
- Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including client representatives, employees, visitors, and vendors.
- Comprehend and execute written or verbal instructions.
- Write accurate, clear, and legible reports.
- Maintain positive working relationships with co‑workers, client staff, and vendors.
- Maintain functional knowledge of facility (and applicable multiple facilities) and abide by client and Tarian policies and guidelines.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Security Leader or other recognized leadership.
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency.
- Security guard experience and/or caregiving experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain required security licenses or certifications.
- Complete all training and pass all competency tasks within allotted time, including TEAM training, Tarian company orientation, and client‑specific security procedures.
- Prefer prior experience working with the public in a service setting.
- Work and interact with a variety of people, including Tarian employees, client staff, patients, visitors, physicians, and the general public.
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Professional writing skills for routine reports and correspondence.
- Basic computer skills: MS Word, Excel, email; ability to learn security incident management software or client‑specific programs.
- Maintain regular attendance per Tarian attendance policy.
- Excellent customer service skills and genuine desire to assist people and provide protection.

Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentWork hours vary by assignment, client schedules, and business needs. Workweeks may exceed 40 hours and may involve any of the 7 days of the week. The environment may be fast‑paced and stressful or slow‑paced and quiet. All scenarios require alertness and the ability to perform under pressure.
