Unarmed Security Officer

Overview

Marksman Security Corporation is hiring a Security Officer to engage with the public and respond to all calls for service on public right of way. The position offers a higher than industry standard starting pay of $23.50 per hour and requires open availability for weekends, evenings, and holidays. Candidates must have a current valid Denver Guard License, a valid driver’s license, and be able to conduct extended foot and bike patrols (up to six hours).

The role also requires maintaining a visible presence, engaging in professional public interactions, and ensuring all rules and regulations are enforced.

• Conduct vehicle, foot, and bike patrols of a 16-block area in the public right of way to identify potential safety and security risks.
• Maintain a visible presence and engage in professional public interactions.
• Document all interactions in a clear and concise written report, ensuring accurate and timely submission of required documentation.
• Communicate and pass on all pertinent information to fellow team members, other safety teams, and the client.
• Monitor and detect any suspicious behavior to assist in the prevention of vandalism, theft, and other criminal behavior.
• Warn violators of infractions such as loitering, smoking, or possession of prohibited items.
• Respond to calls of distress, alarms, and emergencies (e.g., fire, injuries, presence of unauthorized individuals) by contacting local first responders.
• Identify and report any and all concerns (safety, security breaches, unusual circumstances) in a timely manner.
• Ensure all rules/regulations are being enforced and followed.
• Other duties as determined by management.

• Must be at least 25 years of age or older.
• High school degree or equivalent.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Valid Denver Guard License.
• Professional demeanor and appearance.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize assigned tasks.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Minimum of one year of customer service experience.
• Minimum of one year of security experience.
• Successful completion of pre-employment screening (background and drug).
• Willingness to perform tasks such as crawling, crouching, climbing stairs, kneeling, running, sitting, standing, stooping, and walking for extended periods.
