Employment Status: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday to Wednesday | 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Pay: Up to $26.50 per hour

Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is seeking a professional and dependable Security Officer to support operations at a behavioral health and mental wellness facility in Edwards, Colorado. This position plays an important role in maintaining a secure environment for healthcare professionals, patients, visitors, and support staff. Officers assigned to this location must be comfortable working in a mental health setting and capable of handling challenging situations with patience, professionalism, and sound judgment.

The ideal candidate remains calm under pressure, communicates effectively, and can respond appropriately when interacting with individuals experiencing emotional distress, agitation, or behavioral crises.

Primary Duties Facility Security & Patrol
  • Conduct regular exterior patrols of the hospital campus and surrounding grounds
  • Monitor entrances, exits, parking areas, and perimeter locations
  • Identify and report security concerns, safety hazards, or maintenance issues
  • Help maintain a secure environment by remaining visible and attentive throughout the shift
  • Observe facility activity and report unusual behavior or suspicious circumstances
Patient & Visitor Safety
  • Assist staff by supporting a safe and orderly environment
  • Monitor public areas to help prevent disruptions or unsafe behavior
  • Respond appropriately to situations involving distressed, agitated, or disruptive individuals
  • Utilize verbal de-escalation techniques when appropriate
  • Follow established procedures when addressing behavioral incidents
Incident Response
  • Respond to security related calls and requests for assistance
  • Support emergency response procedures when required
  • Communicate effectively with hospital personnel, supervisors, and emergency responders
  • Maintain professionalism during high-stress situations
  • Follow all site-specific protocols and security procedures
Documentation & Communication
  • Complete incident reports, activity logs, and daily documentation accurately
  • Record observations and security related events in a timely manner
  • Communicate important updates to supervisors and facility representatives
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding patient, staff, and facility information
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during challenging interactions
  • Dependable attendance and reliable work history
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
  • Comfortable working around individuals experiencing mental health challenges
  • Ability to pass a fingerprint-based background screening
  • Must possess required client vaccinations or be willing to obtain them before assignment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous healthcare, hospital, behavioral health, or security experience
  • Training or experience in conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques
  • Experience working in public‑facing or customer‑service environments
  • Strong observation and decision‑making skills
  • Familiarity with incident reporting and documentation procedures
