Walden Security is currently recruiting experienced Court Security Officers. CSOs will provide armed security to courthouses under the U.S. Marshal Service contract.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform entrance control:
Enforce the district’s entry and identification system, operating security screening equipment to detect weapons, contraband, and prohibited items, checking items such as handbags, briefcases, computers, packages, baby carriages, wheelchairs, etc. - Perform roving patrol:
Patrol court facilities and grounds in accordance with applicable post orders. - Perform stationary post assignments:
Stand guard at stationary posts, monitoring closed‑circuit television, duress alarm systems, and other security equipment; courtrooms, judge chambers, and jury rooms. - Perform escort duties:
When directed, provide armed escort services for judges, court personnel, jurors, and other designated individuals. - Perform garage parking and pedestrian control:
Direct traffic and control lights on court‑facility properties as described in post orders or SOPs. - Enforce law and order:
Enforce federal law while performing assigned duties, detaining persons who attempt unauthorized access to government property or court proceedings, and preventing acts that imperil safety and security. - Prepare reports and records:
Prepare reports on contract performance issues—labor hours, accidents, fire, bomb threats, unusual incidents, or unlawful acts. - Court attendance:
Secure unattended courtrooms, inspect courtrooms before proceedings, test security devices, and perform other duties concerning court security. - Preserve order:
Provide security presence in courtrooms, enforce federal law and judicial orders, enforce local court rules on prohibited items, and protect court proceedings as circumstances dictate.
Education and/or
Experience:
High‑school diploma or GED; at least three (3) calendar years of verifiable experience as a certified law‑enforcement officer or equivalent, all within the last seven (7) years and including general arrest authority.
Language
Skills:
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; understand, explain, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, directives, and procedures.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record for the past five years; DOJ clearance; graduation from a certified federal, state, county, local, or military law‑enforcement training academy with certification proof.

Qualifications:
At least 21 years old; capable of passing a pre‑employment drug screen and criminal background check.
