Job Description SummaryThe Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of all guests, employees, and visitors of the hotel. They protect hotel assets, enforce security policies, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Additional duties include fire prevention, safety checks, investigations, and resolution of safety complaints.
Duties and Responsibilities- Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients, managing according to Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards and instilling a passion for customer service.
- Perform normal hotel security functions such as fire prevention and safety checks.
- Investigate thefts, accidents, and other incidents which occur on the property.
- Prevent losses of company and guest property due to theft, burglary, pilferage, and other criminal activity.
- Ensure a safe and tranquil environment for guests and employees.
- Assist guests and colleagues on all security and safety related inquiries.
- Resolve guest and employee complaints or requests.
- Conduct floor patrols during tour of duty, checking doors, windows, and securing facilities during non-operating hours.
- Monitor the activities of personnel on the premises to detect and counter thefts and other criminal activities.
- Complete associates forms and reports related to any accidents or issues within the premises of the hotel.
- Immediately report hotel deficiencies to appropriate departments for immediate repair.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned by Management.
- Regular and punctual attendance.
- Adhere to the property’s grooming standards.
- Stand, walk continuously, and run as warranted.
- Operate a motor vehicle safely during all hours and in all weather conditions.
- Understand and execute all safety and emergency procedures (e.g., fire, crowd control, inclement weather, bomb threats).
- Understand and operate emergency equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, wheelchairs, respirators).
- Lift, carry, and store overhead items up to approximately 50 lbs.
- Lift and move an immobilized adult in an emergency.
- Bend, squat, kneel, climb stairs and ladders, and reach.
- Push and/or pull approximately 75 lbs.
- Work in extreme temperatures.
- Utilize communication equipment (e.g., telephones, radios, beepers).
- Communicate clearly and effectively with guests and employees.
- Interact with guests and employees in a courteous, empathetic, and discreet manner.
- Read and write effectively.
- Interact with the public, maintaining high customer service standards (smile, eye contact, positive presentation).
- Will be required to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Pay: $ 2 1 .00 to $22.00 per hour. Base pay varies with experience.
