Job OverviewThe Colorado Community College System – Lowry Campus – hires a full‑time Security Technician II to ensure campus safety by performing patrols, responding to calls, conducting investigations, enforcing rules, and managing emergencies.
Shift & ScheduleStandard schedule:
Thursday–Sunday, 6:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., with possible shift and holiday adjustments.
Shift differentials: 7.5% for 4–11 p.m., 14% for 11 p.m.–6 a.m., 20% for weekend shifts.

- Conduct security patrols of campus buildings and facilities on foot, bicycle, or vehicle.
- Respond to services called via radio, telephone, or supervisor assignment.
- Notify security management and law enforcement of breaches or security risks.
- Inspect buildings, doors, windows, and entry points for safety.
- Provide safety escorts to and from vehicles and facilities.
- Investigate incidents and maintain accurate written reports and incident logs.
- Enforce campus rules, detain or restrain individuals when necessary, issue parking and trespass notices, and assist with crowd control.
- Assist in emergency responses, including first aid/CPR/AED and evacuation procedures.
- Maintain proper use and care of security equipment (batons, handcuffs, pepper spray, radios).
- Report crimes and comply with Campus Security Authority obligations.
- Two (2) years of primary work experience in security, campus safety, or law enforcement.
- College, university, or business‑school coursework in law enforcement or a related field may substitute for experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Valid Colorado driver’s license.
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 60 days of hire.
- Physical ability to exert up to 100 lbs of force occasionally, up to 50 lbs frequently, or up to 20 lbs constantly, including climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and other physical tasks.
- Training and certification in baton, pepper spray, handcuffs, and ASIST within six months of appointment.
- Successful completion of background check, physical, agility, and drug test.
- Minimum age 21 years.
