Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Canon Rental. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of equipment including excavators, skid steers, backhoes, generators, and small engines. If you’re a hands-on problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of heavy equipment and machinery.
- Inspects equipment to locate and determine the extent of necessary repairs and the corrective action necessary
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
- Track and document repairs and maintenance using company systems.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and adhere to safety procedures.
- Advises in the selection of parts and equipment and estimates repair costs
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience working on heavy equipment, diesel engines, or related mechanical systems.
- Knowledge in small engine repair is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and fuel systems.
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
- Valid driver’s license, and ability to drive company vehicles to and from customer locations.
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and stand for long periods.
- High school diploma or GED; technical training or certifications a plus.
