Position Overview
Qualified candidates enjoy and are willing to travel for out-of-town assignments as needed.
Perform electrical and mechanical inspection, start-up and controls programming on state of the art, specialized, complex HVAC equipment.
This position requires candidates who embody curiosity, dedication to hard work, a desire to become a trusted expert and a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for customers, colleagues, and oneself in every situation.
Required skills include effective communication internally, with customers, and with industry contacts. Additionally required are high levels of organization, attention to detail, reliability, punctuality and teachability.
We’re looking for someone with a solid, hands-on foundation in commercial HVAC, mechanical, controls, and site-built systems. Who is proficient in troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems, including high/low voltage circuits, control sequences, airflow, refrigeration circuits, and various hydronic systems. Computer skills are essential.
Travel and Schedule
Based in Denver, with regular local fieldwork.
After onboarding and training: regular travel; trips range from short site visits to multi-week assignments; travel is predicted (not guaranteed) to average up to ~2 weeks/month and varies both by season and by project load.

travel timelines and destinations can shift with very short notice as needs can arise unpredictably.
Essential Job Functions for candidate to have (or be working towards)
- Comfortable with regular long drives and air travel, sometimes with short notice.
- Perform HVAC duties for Startup, Warranty, and Service Support
- Perform electrical and mechanical inspection as well as warranty repair on HVAC equipment to ensure peak performance.
- Program unit controllers and VFD’s to match the design intent and sequence of
- Proficient with computer interface for controls setup and possesses a good working understanding of BAS controls.
- Interpret engineering drawings in reference to layout, location and operation of the system(s).
- Coordinate with BAS contractors, share sequences, confirm points/handoffs, align operation (no deep BAS programming expertise required).
- Effectively document all work performed and inspections, create and track action items, and communicate findings and next steps to relevant team members
- Work effectively in a team-based environment to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Submit required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Work in a safe manner on a daily basis and ensures that all safety measures are taken at all times.
- Represent company in a positive manner to other trades, contractors and owners.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.
- Keep your technical skills top of industry sharp for complex HVAC system applications.
- Keep your truck organized and clean inside and out.
- Perform site surveys to propose work and quality assurance checks.
- Prepare service work estimates and methods of procedures.
- Coordinate labor, material, equipment, subcontractors, etc. to execute work.
- Other duties as they evolve with the business and development of your role.
Requirements
- Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must have EPA certification and 5 years of HVAC and/or controls related industry experience.
- Must have (or be working towards) HVAC technical education completion or equivalent.
- Must have mechanical skills required to work on a variety of complex HVAC systems including fans, compressors, motor bearings, refrigeration circuits, burner set up, heat wheels, etc.
- Must have current OSHA 10 or 30 Training.
