Journeyman Lineman, Granby

Mountain Parks Electric is a distribution cooperative seeking a Journeyman Lineman for our Granby, Colorado location. Mountain Parks Electric has approximately 70 employees and 1,800 miles of line, serving 22,000 meters. Our headquarters is in Granby, Colorado, located at a high elevation and close to Denver International Airport and Rocky Mountain National Park. Granby offers scenic surroundings, hiking, skiing, and other outdoor recreation.

Under the direction of the Crew Foreman, the Journeyman Lineman is responsible for constructing, installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical facilities. The lineman responds to, investigates, and repairs service interruptions to ensure prompt restoration of service and helps evaluate the causes to prevent future interruptions. Duties include reading meters, making service changes, troubleshooting outages, collecting delinquent accounts, carrying out voltage tests, completing outage reports, and participating in on‑call rotations for outages after normal working hours, holidays, and weekends.

• Graduate of an approved power line apprentice course; four (4) years’ experience or 8,500 hours of on‑the‑job training; or proof of being a recognized Journeyman Lineman at another utility or holding a recognized Journeyman Lineman Certificate.
• Valid Colorado Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Basic first aid and CPR certification required within three months of hire.
• Must reside within a 45‑minute response time of the service area center and within the service territory.
