Mechanical Trades Supervisor / Pipe Trades III

- Salary: $70,872.00 - $83,820.00 annually
- Open to Colorado state residents.
- Plan, assign, and inspect the day‑to‑day work of Pipe Trades II and I personnel in 17 state buildings; supervise execution and completion of special projects as directed by the unit supervisor; develop schedules, leave requests, goals, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and control heating, cooling and ventilation systems in multi‑story buildings; monitor and adjust existing systems; respond to tenant calls received through the help desk.
- Assist in yearly budget recommendations to the LTC for Capitol Complex operations; monitor HVAC expenditures for parts and materials used in maintenance.
- Develop and implement building and equipment preventive maintenance for HVAC activities; maintain, troubleshoot, and repair EMS (Siemens) systems.
- Ensure essential and emergency services are performed without delay, including potential unexpected or unusual work hours as required.

Qualifications- Universal CFC Certification as defined by EPA regulations Section 608.
- At least four years of experience in labor, trades, or crafts related to the assignment, two of which at the level of a unit supervisor or equivalent; or a combination of related education, formal apprenticeship, and relevant experience amounting to at least four years, with two years at a supervisory level.
- Preferred qualifications:
- Previous state service related to the assignment.
- Current Master‑Level plumber license issued by the State of Colorado or an equivalent authority.
- Current Master‑Level electrical license issued by the State of Colorado or an equivalent authority.
- Experience maintaining plumbing and pipe systems in a large setting.
- Experience maintaining HVAC systems in a large setting.
- Experience operating and maintaining a central boiler and chiller plant.
- Experience and working knowledge of building automation systems such as Siemens or Johnson Controls.
- Knowledge of general construction materials and technology.
- Knowledge of all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements applicable to Colorado building codes.
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code, NFPA, International Mechanical Code, and related regulations.
- Ability to analyze and interpret building and site plans, specifications, and construction drawings.
- Ability to conduct field inspections.
- Ability to develop project procedures and schedules.
- Pre-employment criminal background check.
- Valid Colorado driver's license required.
- Travel to state-owned facilities and properties within Denver and Grand Junction.
- Eligible for on-call and shift work; must be available for any shift.
