OVERVIEW
The Lead Technician works on customer sites in a variety of environments including new construction, remodels, and operating facilities. This position is also responsible for complying with Encore standards for Safety, and Customer Service.
Compensation Range for this Role
: $ per hour

- Proficient in cable pathway installation, understanding standards and code
- Knowledge of common audio-visual equipment and hardware of various types
- Perform installation tasks that meet or exceed industry standards, including:
- Cable termination (Crimp, Solder, Captive Screw)
- Mounting of devices
- Proper cable labeling techniques
- Structural mounting and rigging
- Projector and Screen installation
- Speaker installation (wall, ceiling, or portable) – understands basics of 8ohm versus 70/100‑volt systems
- Flat panel display installation (wall or ceiling mount)
- Camera installation (wall or ceiling mount)
- Microphone installation (tabletop or ceiling)
- Demonstrate knowledge of industry recognized testing equipment
- Data Connections, including:
- Cat5e and Cat6/A 568A/B terminations
- Shielded and unshielded part numbers and use of STP, UTP, F/UTP
- Fiber optic connections
- Assembling and testing patch cables
- Ability to train and mentor junior technicians on installation standards and methods, as well as company related requirements
- Work within time and budget restraints
- Provide site supervision of the installation team with direction from the Senior Tech or Project Manager
- Perform close‑out documentation procedures and daily/weekly company documentation requirements
- Procure materials collaboratively through Operations/Project Management for project related needs
- Crew safety training and PPE assignment required to meet or exceed customer, industry, GC, and local jurisdiction requirements
- Always promote a strong culture of health and safety
- Read and interpret electronic schematics, installation drawings, and architectural blueprints
- Assist with basic mechanical fabrication as necessary
- Knowledge of:
- Constructability and the construction process
- MS Office Software and other computer programs
- Blueprint drawings and how they apply to the project
- Reading blueprint drawings
- Wiring diagrams
