About the Role
We are seeking a motivated individual with strong mechanical aptitude to join our Dental Service team as a Service Technician. The role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of dental equipment, including computer‑related items, while delivering first‑class customer service.
Responsibilities- Install and repair dental equipment under general supervision, following checklists and manufacturer guidelines.
- Safely remove, modify, repair, and install equipment under general supervision with the ability to work independently after training.
- Apply specific manufacturer and Patterson guidelines, OSHA, and other applicable regulations related to asepsis.
- Support customers by responding promptly, treating them respectfully, and building lasting relationships through follow‑up.
- Communicate technical information clearly to non‑technical audiences, listening attentively and asking clarifying questions.
- Anticipate problems and customer needs, and find solutions beyond initial training.
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with customers, vendors, and colleagues.
- Determine parts, supplies, or tools needed to complete service requests and manage vehicle inventory as required.
- Maintain a quality driving record and ensure proper vehicle maintenance when using company vehicles.
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent; strong mechanical aptitude; strong work ethic and ownership of company and customer goals; ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment; basic computer or smartphone skills; strong verbal and written communication; valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Preferred: Trade school training in carpentry, plumbing, heating, electricity, or electronics; excellent organization and problem‑solving skills; knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Teams.
Work may involve traveling to customer locations and providing on‑site services and support. The role requires 100% travel within a local geographic area, with occasional overnight or after‑hours service as needed.
Physical Demands- Remains stationary or in a driving position up to 100% of the shift.
- Lifts boxes and dental supplies up to 25 pounds up to 75% of the shift.
- Varies of equipment positioning up to 50% of the shift.
- Reaches up to shoulder level and to waist level up to 25% of the shift; lifts or moves equipment weighing 26‑49 pounds up to 10% of the shift; lifts equipment weighing up to 50 pounds into place less than 5% of the shift; climbs steps and/or ladders less than 5% of the shift.
