Commercial Building Engineer I – Class A Office Building

Denver, CO 80202

Direct-hire position paying between $30-35 per hour plus overtime depending on experience.

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Commercial Building Engineer to join our facilities team. This position is responsible for assisting with the daily maintenance, repair, and operation of commercial building systems to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient environment for tenants and staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, basic mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn commercial building operations including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance systems.

• Perform routine building inspections and preventive maintenance tasks
• Respond to tenant maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner
• Assist with basic repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and mechanical systems
• Replace filters, belts, light bulbs, ceiling tiles, and other building materials as needed
• Monitor building equipment including boilers, pumps, air handlers, and generators
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of mechanical and maintenance areas
• Support outside vendors and contractors during service visits
• Follow company safety procedures
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and daily reports

• 1-3 years of experience in building operations or facilities maintenance (commercial preferred)
• Basic knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  
  Good communication and customer service abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders or in mechanical spaces
• High school diploma or GED required; technical training or trade school certification is desirable
• Willingness to work flexible hours or respond to emergency calls if needed

• EPA, HVAC, or maintenance certifications experience working in commercial buildings, hotels, apartments, or industrial facilities
