Job Title:

Journeyman Plumber

This role offers an experienced Journeyman Plumber the opportunity to work on a wide range of commercial and industrial construction projects across the Denver metro area. You will focus on both plumbing and HVAC piping systems for facilities such as water and wastewater treatment plants, hospitals, schools, correctional facilities, and hotels. You will play a key role in installation, layout, and crew leadership on complex mechanical projects.

Responsibilities
  • Install, assemble, and repair commercial and industrial plumbing and piping systems on construction projects throughout the Denver metro area.
  • Work on a balanced mix of plumbing and HVAC piping systems, with approximately half of the work focused on each discipline.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan and execute plumbing and piping layouts.
  • Install and connect materials including cast iron, waste and vent systems, PVC, copper, threaded pipe, and steel pipe.
  • Perform extensive copper soldering and some press work to complete high‑quality, leak‑free joints.
  • Assist with HDPE fusion work when required, contributing to specialized piping installations as needed.
  • Support occasional acid waste plumbing work, primarily lavatory‑type installations.
  • Lead and run crews in the field, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring work meets quality, safety, and schedule requirements.
  • Use appropriate hand tools, cordless tools, and torches to complete daily tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with other trades and project teams to maintain efficient workflow on commercial and industrial job sites.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company standards while working on active construction sites.
  • Perform general labor and mechanical tasks related to plumbing and piping installations as needed to support project completion.
Essential Skills
  • Active Journeyman Plumber license.
  • At least 8 years of commercial and industrial plumbing experience.
  • Proven experience running and leading crews in the field on construction projects.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with commercial and industrial plumbing installation.
  • Proficiency working with cast iron, waste and vent systems, PVC, copper, threaded pipe, and steel pipe.
  • Extensive experience with copper soldering and familiarity with press fittings.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
  • Experience in mechanical and piping work within commercial construction environments.
  • Capability to perform physically demanding work on active construction sites.
  • Ability to provide and effectively use personal hand tools, cordless tools, and a torch.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with HDPE fusion is a plus.
  • Exposure to acid waste systems, particularly lavatory‑type installations, is beneficial.
  • Experience working on projects such as water and wastewater treatment plants, hospitals, schools, correctional facilities, and hotels.
  • Experience in commercial construction environments with both plumbing and HVAC piping scopes.
  • Comfort performing general labor tasks related to plumbing and piping installation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail in installation quality.
Work Environment

The company is a family‑owned mechanical contractor with approximately 30 field employees. Work takes place on commercial and industrial construction sites across a broad geographic area from Fort Collins to Colorado Springs. Typical work hours range from 45 to 50 hours per week, with standard shifts such as 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There is potential for four‑day workweeks with 11‑ to 12‑hour shifts, and the schedule generally runs Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays as project needs require.

You will work in active construction environments using standard plumbing and piping tools including hand tools, cordless tools, torches, and materials such as cast iron, PVC, copper, threaded pipe, steel pipe, and HDPE. The setting is fast‑paced, collaborative, and safety‑focused, with field teams working closely together to deliver high‑quality mechanical installations.
