The FLOXAL Reliability Specialist trains others in operating and maintaining equipment used in generating industrial gases at customer locations. The role coordinates with Regional Management, technicians, and contractors to maintain and operate FLOXAL equipment across up to four Airgas operating regions, requiring travel to multiple facilities nationwide.
Responsibilities- Train personnel to maintain, troubleshoot, and perform preventative inspections on all FLOXAL equipment and systems per manufacturer’s instructions and regulations.
- Provide training on maintenance and troubleshooting for compressors, dryers, valves, motors, and other equipment to reduce reliance on third‑party contractors.
- Educate team members on electrical systems, instrumentation, calibrations, and quality control/quality assurance equipment.
- Instruct others on installation, maintenance, adjustment, and repair of measuring, recording, and regulating instrumentation.
- Certify Field Service Technicians (FSTs) on maintenance plans and technical procedures once training is complete.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and manuals to guide maintenance and troubleshooting efforts.
- Collaborate with regional management teams to ensure preventive maintenance programs are completed and aligned with strategic quality and efficiency goals.
- Monitor the fleet performance, ensure efficient operation, and report performance degradation to the Field Service Manager (FSM).
- Lead reliability meetings at the regional and divisional levels, analyze operational details, and follow up on action items to ensure accountability.
- Conduct periodic audits focused on safety compliance, preventive maintenance, site conditions, and operational efficiency.
Heavy travel role – minimum 30% to 50% of the time.

- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Five years’ experience operating and maintaining industrial gas manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to teach regional employees to maintain PID schematics and equipment manuals.
- Familiar with all FLOXAL operation and maintenance standards.
- Manage regional technicians and contractors on site.
- Teach troubleshooting, repair, test, and calibration of process analyzers and instruments.
- Teach low voltage motor controls up to 480 VAC.
- Previous experience in air separation instrumentation a plus.
- Mastering FLOXAL control systems.
- Organized, able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work.
- Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems.
- Proficiency with Google and Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work call‑outs, nights, weekends & possibly holidays.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and regulations.
- 100% compliance with Airgas safety policy, cGMP training and techniques.
- Judgment to interpret sophisticated instrumentation and make decisions.
- Ability to use tools and equipment for repairing and replacing mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment.
- Use computer programs to analyze, document and track specific initiatives and goals set by management.
- Military technical experience.
