BAS Controls Installer - Low Voltage Electrician

Job Description

If you are an electrician and you would like to move into more technical directions with your career, or if you are an HVAC technician and you would like to start working with building automation, I would like to talk with you about an opportunity with UCS.

• Install building automation systems (BAS) and associated devices
• Read and understand construction documents
• Read and interpret BAS control schematics with the ability to install outlined cabling and components
• Install control cabling (communication, sensor, wall sensors, etc.)
• Install electrical raceways to NEC standards
• Self‑starter with the ability to work independently if needed
• Strong customer skills to communicate with teammates and other trades as needed
• Maintain knowledge of current industry trends and practices

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3‑4 years’ experience in a control’s installation or similar electrical experience
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
• Reliable transportation

• 5+ years’ experience in a control’s installation or similar role
• Certification from an accredited trade school or apprenticeship program
• Strong understanding of all aspects of building automation systems
• Knowledge of NEC 2019 or higher electrical code
• Ability to install conduit and electrical raceways
• Leadership skills

Pay Dependent on experience: $22 - $40 per hour

Universal Controls Solution (UCS) is a full‑service building automation controls install and service contractor. Serving the front range area of Colorado from Fort Collins in the North to Colorado Springs in the south. As a subcontractor we install and service a variety of HVAC BAS brand including Distech, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Trane, Carrier. We typically deploy Tridium Niagara N4 as our user interface of choice.
