Fire Sprinkler Helper​/Apprentice

Total Fire Protection is seeking Fire Sprinkler Fitter Apprentices to join our team and contribute to the safety and protection of lives and property. As a Fire Sprinkler Fitter Apprentice, you will be an integral part of our installation and maintenance team, learning the skills and techniques necessary to become a proficient Fire Sprinkler Fitter. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will gain hands‑on experience in the installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems.

• Assist in the installation and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems in commercial and residential buildings (steel, CPVC, and copper pipe).
• Participate in the assembly and installation of piping, fittings, and fixtures for fire protection systems.
• Work closely with experienced Fire Sprinkler Fitters to understand system blueprints, specifications, and design plans.
• Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems to ensure optimal functionality.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions or damage in fire sprinkler systems, including valves, pipes, and other components.
• Learn and apply knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on projects.
• Coordinate with other construction professionals, including plumbers, electricians, and general contractors, to integrate fire sprinkler systems seamlessly into overall building plans.
• Ensure all installations and repairs meet regulatory standards and comply with relevant codes.

• Basic understanding of mechanical systems and hand tools.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Valid driver license with a safe driving record required.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced professionals.

• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and work in various physical conditions, including confined spaces and elevated areas.
• Must be safety conscious and comfortable working at high elevations, on ladders and/or powered lifts.
• Must be able to withstand environmental elements of high and low temperatures, rain, snow, etc., as construction sites may not be fully enclosed, heated or cooled.
• Must have a high degree of awareness and follow safety protocols.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Schedule: 8 hour shift - Monday to Friday
