Are you a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in keeping buildings operating at peak performance? We're seeking a motivated Commercial Building Engineer I to join the operations team at a prestigious Class A office property in downtown Denver.
This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging building engineer looking to grow their technical skills while working alongside experienced professionals in a high-profile commercial environment. You'll play a key role in maintaining critical building systems and delivering an exceptional experience for tenants.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance throughout the property
- Respond promptly to tenant service requests and maintenance work orders
- Assist with repairs and troubleshooting of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and mechanical systems
- Replace filters, belts, lamps, ceiling tiles, and other building components as needed
- Monitor and maintain building equipment including boilers, pumps, generators, and air handling units
- Support vendor and contractor activities while ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional mechanical and maintenance areas
- Accurately document maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and building operating standards
What We're Looking For
- 1–3 years of experience in building operations, facilities maintenance, or related trades
- Basic understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
- Experience using hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Strong troubleshooting abilities and mechanical aptitude
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a team environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in mechanical rooms or confined spaces
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Trade school, technical training, or related coursework is a plus
- Flexibility to respond to occasional after-hours emergencies when needed
Preferred Qualifications
- EPA Certification
- HVAC or maintenance-related certifications
- Experience in commercial office buildings, hotels, multifamily communities, healthcare facilities, or industrial properties
