Concrete Foreman (Self-Perform Operations) Pay: $35/$42/hr (depending on experience) Position Overview

The Concrete Foreman is a key field leadership role responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily activities of concrete crews, carpenters, and laborers. This position ensures that all structural and architectural concrete work—including formwork, reinforcement, placement, and finishing—is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

As a working leader, the Foreman provides hands‑on guidance, drives a rigorous safety culture, and collaborates closely with Project Superintendents and Engineers to deliver successful commercial and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety Leadership: Enforce a zero‑injury safety culture. Conduct daily Pre‑Task Plans (PTP), ensure strict compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies, and verify that all crew members have appropriate PPE and equipment training.
  • Crew Supervision & Execution: Lead, motivate, and direct daily field operations for concrete placement, finishing, formwork erection (gang forms, traditional formwork), and rebar installation.
  • Production & Scheduling: Review blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications to plan crew activities. Meet or exceed daily production goals, manage material deliveries, and coordinate equipment needs.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all concrete work meets exact project specifications, tolerances, and industry standards (ACI). Oversee pre‑pour inspections, slump testing coordination, and post‑pour curing procedures.
  • Administrative Reporting: Accurate and timely completion of daily logs, timecards, material tracking, and safety documentation.
  • Training & Mentorship: Train and mentor apprentices, carpenters, and laborers in proper concrete construction techniques, tool usage, and safe work practices.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of commercial concrete construction experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or lead capacity.
  • Deep knowledge of concrete mixes, finishing techniques, formwork systems (e.g., Symons, EFCO, Peri), blueprint reading, and surveying/layout tools.
  • Proven experience on large‑scale commercial, institutional (healthcare/education), or industrial (data centers, advanced manufacturing) projects is highly preferred.
  • OSHA 30‑Hour certification (preferred).
  • First Aid/CPR certification (preferred).
  • ACI Concrete Flatwork Finisher or related certifications are a plus.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, bilingual (English/Spanish) is a significant asset, and a proven track record of maintaining high crew morale and accountability.
