- Perform assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
- Respond to basic warranty calls.
- Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to our customers, delivering solutions and outcomes at the time of service.
- Load system‑level controller software.
- Perform basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system‑level controllers to end devices (i.e., sensors, actuators, etc.) and complete all required commissioning documentation.
- Keep management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues.
- Calibrate systems requiring basic electronic test equipment.
- Complete administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on‑site documentation.
- Document changes and provide information for as‑built documentation.
- Communicate with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
- Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training. Maintain a high degree of regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
- Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure the facility is running efficiently, including upselling opportunities.
- Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
- 2‑year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or similar field or at least 4 years of industry experience or experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
- Generally required knowledge includes HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
- Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
- Ability to explain technical information to technical and non‑technical people; leadership skills to support the activities of mechanics working on non‑complex, non‑critical Building Automation equipment on a job site.
- PC experience required and the ability to program HVAC‑related software.
HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $32.06 - $44.13 per hour (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
