Maintenance Technician Assistant

Job Summary

Supports the maintenance team by assisting with routine maintenance, repairs, and the upkeep of equipment and facility systems to ensure efficient, reliable and smooth operations. This role primarily focuses on ensuring equipment reliability, performing preventive maintenance, and driving continuous improvements across facility operations. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn technical skills in mechanical, electrical, and general maintenance trades.

• Operate and maintain fulfillment equipment to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on material-handling systems per guidelines.
• Assist with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting and minor repairs.
• Escalate complex issues to seasoned colleagues (such as maintenance technicians, senior maintenance technicians), and supervisor as needed.
• Clear jams, remove obstructions, and conduct general equipment upkeep.
• Support equipment repairs and part replacements under technician supervision.
• Perform facility maintenance tasks, including lighting, minor construction, and plumbing.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and adhere to safety and cleanliness protocols.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for extended periods, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to follow safety protocols.

• Technical certification or coursework in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or industrial maintenance.
• Previous experience in a maintenance or technical role (even as a trainee or apprentice).
• Basic understanding of electrical circuits, plumbing, HVAC systems, or mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance procedures and basic troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

$19.29 - $24.75 / Hourly
