The Field Service Technician is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Denver, CO, responsible for supporting customers with electrical power distribution and rotating equipment services. Day‑to‑day tasks include performing testing, inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of motors, generators, switch gear, drives, and related protective equipment in industrial and utility environments. The role involves traveling to customer sites, executing field service work in accordance with safety standards and technical procedures, and accurately documenting test results, service reports, and recommendations.
The technician collaborates with engineering and operations teams, communicates clearly with customers about findings and solutions, and assists with outage planning and scheduled maintenance activities. This position also requires adherence to Shermco’s safety culture and participation in ongoing technical and safety training.
- Candidates should possess strong technical skills in electrical power distribution systems, rotating equipment, and industrial control systems.
- Candidates should possess practical skills in troubleshooting, testing, maintenance, and repair of motors, generators, switch gear, drives, and protective devices.
- Candidates should possess solid safety and compliance knowledge, including electrical safety practices, OSHA regulations, and relevant industry standards.
- Candidates should possess effective communication and documentation skills, including clear report writing, customer communication, and teamwork with field and engineering staff.
- Candidates should possess good organizational and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and manage time on complex field assignments.
- Relevant qualifications such as a technical diploma or degree in electrical or industrial technology, prior field service experience, and certifications (e.g., NETA, electrician license) are beneficial.
- Ability to work on‑site in Denver, CO, travel to customer locations as needed, and perform physical tasks associated with field service work (e.g., standing, lifting equipment, working in industrial environments).
