Ammonia Service Technician

Yellowstone Local is seeking an Ammonia Service Technician to support home-service and trades clients by installing, maintaining, and repairing ammonia refrigeration systems. In this role, you'll perform diagnostics, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, complete preventive maintenance, and ensure systems operate safely and efficiently. You'll follow strict safety and regulatory standards, document all work, and communicate clearly with clients and team members.

This position is ideal for a hands-on technician who values craftsmanship, accountability, and helping clients grow through reliable, high-performing systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair ammonia refrigeration systems for home-service and trades clients.
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control issues.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, and performance testing to reduce downtime.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (IIAR, OSHA, EPA).
• Document all service activities, findings, and recommendations accurately and on time.
• Collaborate with project managers and client teams to schedule and prioritize work.
• Provide clear, professional communication to clients about system status and repairs.
• Support continuous improvement of service processes and best practices within the team.
