Job Description:
Remote field technician for L3
Harris (Field Services Division) supporting multiple programs/systems for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) who can perform installation and maintenance on a variety of Networking and Telecommunication equipment at customer locations.
The position requires daily commuting to and from customer remote locations (indoor & outdoor) within your assigned area. Remote field technicians must be able to work independently with little supervision and possess good written/verbal communication skills.
Essential Functions:
- Provide technical support for each specific program/system (FTI, MS, ADS-B, DCNS, WMSS and others) L3
Harris supports for the FAA. - Install, repair, configure, test and complete preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment at the customers' remote locations.
- Able to work remotely in a scheduled and on-call capacity to various customer locations within your assigned area. Occasionally travelling to remote sites outside your assigned area may be needed from time to time to assist with the FAA customer needs and/or requests.
- Willing to travel (up to 100% of the time) to remote sites within a 3 hour drive circle of base location. Technicians may be asked to travel outside of their assigned region, as needed.
- Able to read/understand/follow equipment drawings and task orders.
- Possess good admin skills (taking notes and documenting what transpired while working at the customer location).
- Work directly with the NOCC, the SAC, and the Helpdesk over the phone on resolving issues in the field.
- Maintain tools, test equipment, parts/electronics, truck stock inventory and personal or company vehicle.
- Be proactive and prepared for assigned tasks prior to dispatching.
- Able to work outside regularly scheduled hours (on-call) when/if needed to meet customer's needs.
- Lift items up to 32 lbs. and use ladders and step stools to reach heights of approximately 10ft.

Harris policies/procedures and program specific policies/procedures are followed. - Possess and maintain a valid Driver's License, and a satisfactory driving record, as conditions of initial (and continued) employment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain FAA Public Trust.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
- Possess and maintain a valid Driver's License, and a satisfactory driving record, as conditions of initial (and continued) employment.

- Network+, CCNA, CCNP, CCNA Wireless, A+
- Ability to work from home, in an "on-call" status.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain active DOD Secret Clearance
- Capable of lifting 70 pounds
- Must be willing to travel (up to 100% of the time) to remote sites within a 4-hour drive circle of base location. Technicians may be asked to travel outside of their assigned region, as needed.
- Posses and maintain a valid Driver's License, and satisfactory driving record, as conditions of initial (and continued) employment
- Capable of utilizing ladders, and step stools, to reach heights of approx. 10 feet
