Plumbline Services, a leader in HVAC Wholesale, seeks an HVAC Service Technician for our Technical & Maintenance department. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial HVAC systems, ensuring safe, efficient operation and excellent customer service. Responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment, performing routine maintenance, recommending improvements, and documenting work performed. Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics, repair, and maintenance on residential and light commercial HVAC systems supplied through Plumbline Services' HVAC Wholesale division.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues using appropriate tools and test equipment.
  • Install, replace, and commission HVAC components and equipment, including thermostats and smart controls, in accordance with codes and manufacturer specifications.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance visits, document findings, and provide clear recommendations to customers and wholesale partners.
  • Handle and recover refrigerants in compliance with EPA and company safety standards.
  • Use mobile or software-based service platforms to create, update, and close service tickets with accurate notes, parts usage, and labor time.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, contractors, and internal teams, explaining technical issues and proposed solutions in understandable terms.
  • Support wholesale partners with technical guidance on product applications, installation best practices, and troubleshooting common system issues.
  • Follow all safety protocols, maintain a clean and organized work area, and properly care for company tools, equipment, and service vehicle.
  • Participate in ongoing training on new HVAC technologies, products, and software tools, and contribute feedback to improve service processes and product offerings.

Required Skills

  • Residential and light commercial HVAC diagnosis
  • Installation, maintenance, and repair of furnaces, air conditioners, and heat pumps
  • Refrigeration cycle troubleshooting
  • Low-voltage and line-voltage electrical diagnostics
  • Reading wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Brazing, soldering, and leak detection
  • Use of HVAC diagnostic tools (manifold gauges, multimeters, combustion analyzers, recovery machines)
  • Airflow measurement and ductwork assessment
  • Thermostat and controls setup, including smart thermostats
  • EPA-compliant refrigerant handling and recovery
  • Preventive maintenance procedures
  • Job documentation and service ticketing (mobile/CRM systems)
  • Customer communication and upselling of maintenance agreements
  • Safe work practices and OSHA awareness
  • Driving and care of company vehicle
