The Service Tech 3 – HVAC performs maintenance, repair, and installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This position is responsible for troubleshooting complex HVAC issues, guiding junior technicians, and ensuring systems are running efficiently.

• Troubleshoot and diagnose commercial HVAC units at our customers’ sites.
• Service commercial HVAC
• Change compressors, fans and reclaim refrigerant.
• Maintain legible records of work history.
• Ability to report to workin a timely manneras scheduled by supervisor.
• Have experience working with commercial rooftop and air package units as well as rack air condition units.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• AA degree from an accredited vocational technical or junior college
• EPA certification required
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in construction HVAC, Refrigeration, or a related industry
• Must have ice machine and walk in experience.
• Experience in troubleshooting electrical control systems is required

• Knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of refrigeration equipment and piping of refrigeration equipment.
• Knowledge of computer-controlled systems.
• Ability to read and understand refrigeration, electrical and plumbing blueprints.
• Ability to pump down all refrigerationsystems and reclaim refrigerant from all types of systems.
• Good communication and presentation skills and excellent customer service.
• Ability to understand and follow all company policies and procedures and all applicable State and Federal laws.
• Ability to use typical business tools including E-Mail, Word, Excel, etc.

This job typically operates in convenience stores, grocery stores, food service and/or construction environment with need to work at heights from ladders and/or Scissor lifts.

Mechanical rooms can have elevated noise levels.

The position regularly works near/with refrigeration/HVAC equipment that can expose the workers to extreme cold from refrigerant and high heat from brazing operations.

This role routinely works in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust.

These conditions require employees to use the correct PPE and safe work practices.
