About Your Role
The Electrical Inspector
- Aviation provides field inspection, quality assurance, documentation, and construction oversight for electrical systems and infrastructure supporting projects at Denver International Airport (DEN) .
The Electrical Inspector will monitor contractor activities to ensure electrical installations are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and airport requirements.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience inspecting electrical systems on airport, aviation, terminal, concourse, airfield, baggage handling, transportation, or other large-scale infrastructure projects .
Responsibilities
- Perform daily field inspections of electrical construction activities at Denver International Airport.
- Inspect electrical distribution systems, panels, switch gear, transformers, conduit, wiring, grounding, lighting, and related systems.
- Inspect emergency and standby power systems, generators, UPS systems, and transfer switches.
- Inspect airport terminal and facility electrical systems.
- Inspect airfield electrical infrastructure, including lighting and associated systems, when applicable.
- Monitor contractor installations for compliance with approved plans, specifications, contract documents, and applicable codes.
- Verify electrical materials, equipment, and workmanship meet project quality requirements.
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and approved changes.
- Prepare detailed daily inspection reports, photographs, field notes, and construction documentation.
- Identify deficiencies, non-conforming work, and potential construction issues.
- Coordinate with contractors, electrical engineers, project managers, airport representatives, construction managers, and other stakeholders.
- Witness electrical testing, energization, startup, commissioning, and functional performance activities.
- Verify proper installation of electrical equipment and systems prior to acceptance.
- Support punch-list inspections, system turnover, commissioning, and project closeout.
- Monitor compliance with project safety requirements and electrical safety procedures.
- Coordinate work within active airport terminals, concourses, secured areas, and operational environments.
- Maintain accurate inspection and project records.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of electrical construction inspection, quality assurance, quality control, or related electrical construction experience .
- Previous airport or aviation construction experience strongly preferred .
- Experience inspecting electrical systems such as:
- Electrical distribution
- Switchgear
- Transformers
- Panels
- Conduit and wiring
- Lighting
- Grounding and bonding
- Emergency power
- Generators
- UPS systems
- Fire alarm interfaces
- Low-voltage systems
- Strong knowledge of electrical construction drawings, specifications, and installation requirements.
