Part‑Time Case Manager

FLSA Status:
Part Time – non‑exempt

Reports to:

Housing Program Manager

Schedule:

Monday‑Friday, 29 hours / week

Rate of Pay: $26 / hr

Closing Date: 09/10/2025

Benefits
  • Sick leave – 1 day per month, 12 sick days per year (accrual starts at hire; pro‑rated for part‑time).
  • Vacation – 10 days per year, accrued 0.0385 hrs per worked hour (no use until 6 months; pro‑rated for part‑time).

Function

Support individuals who are guests of temporary housing (shelter) by helping them become permanently housed. Core activities include ongoing case management services for participating guests, assessment, identifying and addressing barriers, referrals to appropriate Salvation Army and community resources, and database recording of all activities. The Case Manager may also liaise with landlords and permanent supportive housing agencies in the Denver Metro community on behalf of participating guests.

The Case Manager will recruit and initiate supportive relationships with guests who are not connected to services or have not established a personal housing plan. Each shelter is a 24/7 site that works with households through a trauma‑informed lens and a Housing First approach. The candidate can work independently with limited supervision. Some weekend work hours may be required.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Recruit guests to engage in case management activities.
  • Manage intake and individualized case plans.
  • Provide housing case management services with the goal of moving toward self‑sufficiency and stability.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments, including Herth Hope Index, Self‑Sufficiency Matrix, and Coordinated Entry Assessment.
  • Manage data within HMIS, Coordinated Entry, Wellsky, and other required platforms.
  • Organize and maintain case files; adhere to client confidentiality and HIPAA.
  • Assist program staff with attending to needs of households at program location and the community.
  • Attend case conferencing, team meetings, and assigned meetings.
  • Must have a valid Motor Vehicle License and pass Driver Safety Training.
  • Complete all required trainings.
  • Adhere to organizational and program policy and procedures, including processing client assistance.
  • Ensure compliance with all funding contract requirements.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Education, Experience, Skills, Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field required (equivalent experience may be considered).
  • Previous case‑management experience, especially with families and/or unhoused individuals, preferred.
  • Support the Salvation Army’s mission and reflect the high standards of the organization.
  • Driving:
    Minimum age 21; valid in‑state driver’s license; MVR processed each year; background check conducted biennially.
  • Physical requirements:

    Ability to maneuver, remain stationary, grasp, push, pull, reach overhead, operate a phone, lift 25 lb, use a computer, understand written information; essential duties can be performed with or without accommodation.
