Professional Testing is a Psychometric Consulting Firm that develops, administers, and maintains licensure and certification examination programs in a wide range of industries. Our full range of services also includes program audits, accreditation preparation, policy development, recertification requirements, implementation of effective organizational and governance structures, and ethics and disciplinary procedures. Our team provides expertise in best practices for certification and program management.

We have offices in Orlando, Florida, and Denver, Colorado.

Psychometrician

The responsibilities will be psychometric and test development services associated with our certification clients, including, but not limited to, program management, psychometric meeting facilitation (item writing, item review, job/task analyses, passing score standard meetings, etc.), statistical test reviews and reports, test scoring, item bank work, examination form creation, examination form publication, and report generation associated with examination programs. In addition, and as time permits, you will be encouraged to work with professional organizations (e.g., NCME, ATP, ICE).

Education and Experience
  • Psychometrician requires a Masters Degree, but a PhD is preferred, in a measurement-related field
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience, 5 years preferred, working in the licensure and/or certification field
Requirements
  • Masters in measurement, statistics, or related field or Master’s in related field with demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining certification programs
  • Experience working with credentialing programs, 5 years of experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of both Classical Test Theory and Item Response Theory measurement models
  • Knowledge of item banking software systems
  • Knowledge of statistical software programs (e.g., SAS, SPSS, R)
  • Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., NCCA, ANSI, CFP)
  • Ability to explain complex measurement concepts using basic terminology
  • Ability to travel between 20-30% of the time
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Verifiable or demonstrated experience facilitating in-person meetings

Pay starting at $85,000 per year for entry-level, but based on qualifications and experience, the salary is negotiable

In accordance with the Colorado Healthy Families and Workplaces Act, employees accrue paid sick leave at a rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours per year. We offer a Comprehensive PTO Bank that meets or exceeds Colorado HFWA requirements, which may be used for vacation, personal time, or sick leave at their discretion.
