Description Of Job
This position is open to current Colorado residents only and is located in Denver County. The role is grant‑funded with a potential extension beyond September 30, 2027. All applicants must sign a waiver of retention rights and a background check will be required, including MVR and Federal Bureau of Prisons clearance.
CompensationHourly:
- $28.59 – $41.84
Bi‑weekly:
- $2,286.92 – $3,347.20
Monthly:
- $4,955.00 – $7,252.27
Development Programs (WDP) plans, develops, administers, delivers, oversees, and monitors employment and training programs and services for job seekers and employers across Colorado. The Re‑entry Specialists within the Partners for Reentry Opportunities in Workforce Development (PROWD) provide services at Federal Bureau of Prison (BOP) facilities and Residential Reentry Centers (RRC). The position assesses offenders’ re‑entry needs, develops transitional plans, researches community resources, and provides linkages and services in both individual and group settings.
Responsibilities- Assess re‑entry needs of individual offenders and create tailored transition plans.
- Research and gather community resources and support services.
- Provide services in group and individual settings, coordinating with federal and local agencies.
- Coordinate with Federal Parole Officers, BOP, local workforce areas, community and faith‑based organizations to enhance public safety.
- Deliver services consistent with CDLE, BOP, and Parole regulations and professional standards.
- Travel throughout the assigned region using a state‑owned or personal vehicle.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience related to the work assigned, including work with currently incarcerated persons in probation, parole, correctional, and prison facilities.
- Or a combination of related education and experience equal to five (5) years.
- Success working with Adults in Custody to assist their transition back into the community.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple organizations for career development, mental health, and social services.
- Knowledge of multidisciplinary team participation to support AICs.
- Understanding of career development assessments, interest inventories, and other employment tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with individuals of various education levels.
- Knowledge of effective outreach and recruitment strategies with justice‑involved individuals.
- Ability to facilitate professional meetings and construct presentations for stakeholders.
- Ability to research and present Labor Market Information to audiences with varying education levels.
- Capability to travel across the region for assignments at BOP facilities.
- Experience administering assessments.
- Evaluating training and job readiness.
- Case management skills.
- Previous duties similar to those assigned to a classified State of Colorado employee.
- Must be a Colorado resident at time of application.
- Must pass a thorough background check and MVR, including E‑Verify.
- Travel to the Federal Bureau of Prisons is required.
- Must pass a BOP background check for facility work.
