What We Offer The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The target pay range for this position is $80,217 - $90,000. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Location

The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

We work to prevent abuse by providing education, resources, and support to parents, families, and community organizations.

The Child Welfare Services division of Denver Human Services is currently seeking a seeking a top-notch, visionary Social Caseworker Supervisor with an emphasis on Youth in Conflict assessments to directly manage Social Case Workers in our Intake Section, which is primarily responsible for assessing new allegations of abuse/neglect of children ages 0-18 as well as concerns regarding youth in conflict and/or need for services and placement.

The Intake Section is a fast-paced and demanding environment.

The Intake Social Case Worker Supervisor with an emphasis on Youth in Conflict assessments will coach, lead and mentor staff as well as have responsibility for the development, planning, and assignment of cases. The successful candidate will demonstrate exemplary leadership, flexibility and experience empowering staff and managing a diverse workforce. The right person for this position will be someone who has a track record of being able to prioritize the best interests of the child while showing a thorough understanding and dedication to the highest standards of practice.

The selected Intake Social Caseworker Supervisor with an emphasis on Youth in Conflict assessments will empower staff by sharing power and authority, encouraging the development of their leadership capabilities, celebrating team wins and recognizing excellent behavior.

Specifically, as the Intake Social Caseworker Supervisor with an Emphasis on Youth in Conflict Assessments:

Plans, assigns, and reviews the activities of social case workers performing case management functions and recommends changes in practices and procedures to increase operating efficiency and expedite workflow

Participates in the development of long range and short-term plans and goals for the assigned area, establishes and/or monitors current methods and policies, and keeps management level personnel abreast of trends and issues in the field and in the department

Screens assessments initially to determine level of risk to individuals/families and eligibility for services/programs, assigns assessments, meets with social case workers to discuss status of assessments, problems encountered, basis for actions, and…
