Location

The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

Through our Outreach & Engagement (O &

E), Denver Human Services seeks to engage residents in strengthening economic well-being and mobility across their lifespan. By leveraging the resources of Denver Human Services' programs and a network of community partnerships, Outreach & Engagement provides a holistic approach to service delivery in order to assist customers in the ability to foresee crisis as well as adapt to and leverage changing life conditions to their advantage.

Denver Human Services is currently seeking an enthusiastic, passionate, and detail-oriented individual to serve as an Eligibility Technician II with the RTD LiVE Program within the Outreach & Engagement (O &

E). As an Eligibility Technician with RTD LiVE you will be trained on our eligibility rules and requirements to assist people throughout the application process for our discount transportation program. You may also be asked to perform outreach services and assist these applicants out in the community.

  • Be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Be comfortable using various automated systems to verify and track information and payments
  • Show understanding, courtesy, tact, empathy, and concern for the population accessing this program, as well as fellow employees
  • Develop and maintain working relationships while encouraging cooperation, pride, and a commitment to teamwork
  • Be sensitive to cultural diversity, race, gender, and other individual differences in the workforce. Be willing to go the extra mile for our clients
  • Assist clients with the application process for the RTD LiVE Program and determines appropriate services/programs to meet the needs of clients by researching and evaluating all necessary information such as family members, financial status, and income
  • Serve as a community resource specialist for clients and refers clients to internal and/or external services and services providers
  • Record client information, enter and update information into complex state and county computer systems
  • Maintain current knowledge of all automated systems used by the program area, programs, policies, and community resources and adjusts work processes to ensure accurate provision of benefits
  • Successfully complete on-the-job training, learning methods and techniques for determining eligibility for this program
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • At least two years of high-volume, direct contact customer service experience
  • Bilingual ability to speak and write in English and Spanish.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • The ability to troubleshoot in various computer systems
  • Experience with the Colorado Benefits Management System- CBMS (preferred, not required)
  • Previous experience determining eligibility
