Role Overview

As a key contributor to the GMI Platform, we are seeking a Software Engineer to develop, integrate, and sustain ground resource management solutions for mission-critical space operations. The successful candidate will work within a cross-functional engineering team to deliver robust software supporting antenna configuration, communications link management, and spacecraft interface integration. This role requires a proactive engineer with a strong background in software development, system integration, and operational support for large-scale ground systems.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and test software applications for ground resource management, including antenna configuration, communications link management, and spacecraft interface integration.
  • Integrate and support FEP/GEP/CMM systems, ensuring seamless operation and interoperability.
  • Conduct code reviews and participate in test framework development to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Provide technical support for real-time operations, troubleshooting, and anomaly resolution.
  • Document system configurations, operational procedures, and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system performance and support mission objectives.
  • Communicate effectively within and outside the immediate team, including with external stakeholders and customers.
  • Deliver enhancements and improvements to existing systems and processes to increase operational efficiency.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience; or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience; or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Active U.S. DoD Top Secret Security clearance.
  • Demonstrated experience in software engineering for ground systems, including resource management and system integration.
  • Strong proficiency in software development languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
  • Experience with system integration, code review, and test framework development.
  • Familiarity with antenna configuration, communications link management, and spacecraft interface protocols.
  • Experience documenting operations and maintenance activities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and support real-time operations.
Preferred Additional Skills
  • Experience with FEP/GEP/CMM integration and ground system architectures.
  • Background in technical leadership or Agile software development.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
  • Experience with team collaboration tools (Confluence, Jira, Git).
  • CompTIA Security+ or better certification.
  • Experience working in a Dev Sec Ops  or Agile environment with regular release cycles.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as Jenkins or Git Lab CI/CD.
  • Experience with VMware and Docker in operational environments.
