What we doThe Custom Solutions team, part of the Business Engineering organization, develops, enhances, and optimizes the internal tools and services that power The Trade Desk's business teams. We build custom solutions—tools that can't simply be bought off the shelf—to address unique business challenges and drive operational excellence. Our projects include systems for managing business incentives, streamlining client onboarding, and maintaining and improving our billing platform.
We are actively exploring ways to integrate AI-powered tools to help TTD employees work more efficiently, automate routine tasks, and unlock new levels of productivity.
- Develop, enhance, and optimize internal tools, processes, and services that empower The Trade Desk's business teams.
- Contribute to complex projects involving both frontend and backend components, collaborating with other engineers to deliver robust solutions.
- Maintain and improve the reliability, scalability, and compliance of our systems through high-quality code and automated testing.
- Analyze data to identify opportunities for operational improvements and clearly communicate the impact of your work.
- Build strong partnerships with business stakeholders, working closely to understand their needs and deliver effective solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, sharing feedback and best practices to help the team grow and maintain high standards.
- Take ownership of smaller projects or features, while supporting larger team initiatives led by senior engineers.
- Embrace opportunities to learn and grow by working on a diverse range of projects and technologies.
- You care deeply about improving the experience, tools, and processes of your business team colleagues.
- You drive innovative solutions while being sensitive to the current needs and realities of stakeholders.
- You can turn technically ambiguous requirements into concrete and thorough designs and execution plans.
- You communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
- You have 4+ years of software development engineering experience.
- You have a Bachelor's/Master's degree in computer science (or a relevant engineering-related field) or equivalent experience.

- You have additional nice-to-have experience in the following areas:
- Proficiency with C#, Type Script, and React
- Experience developing applications and services using .NET
- Familiarity with Graph
QL and API design principles - Experience with CI/CD practices, including designing build pipelines and deploying microservices
- Familiarity with Python and AI fundamentals (e.g. LLMs, RAG, MCP, guardrails)
- Proficiency with relational databases and SQL
