Java Architect or Lead - Denver, CO; Onsite

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Architect to design, build, and guide the development of scalable, high-performance enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices architecture, AWS cloud services, REST APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization using Docker. This role requires a strong balance of hands‑on technical leadership, architecture design, and mentoring development teams.

• Design and define end‑to‑end application architecture using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Lead the development of cloud‑native applications deployed on AWS.
• Architect and enforce microservices best practices, including service decomposition, API gateways, and inter‑service communication.
• Design, develop, and review RESTful APIs ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
• Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment.
• Guide containerization strategies using Docker and support orchestration standards where applicable.
• Ensure application reliability, performance, and security through architectural reviews and standards.
• Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, and cross‑functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to development teams, conducting code reviews and design sessions.
• Drive modernization initiatives, refactoring monolithic applications into microservices where needed.
• Participate in troubleshooting complex production issues and provide architectural solutions.

• 10+ years of experience in Java/J2EE application development.
• Strong expertise in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security.
• Extensive experience with Microservices architecture and design patterns.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, Cloud Watch, etc.).
• Solid understanding of REST API design, API security, and performance optimization.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, Git Lab CI, or similar.
• Strong experience with Docker and container‑based deployments.
• Proficiency with Git‑based version control systems.
• Strong understanding of application security, scalability, and resiliency.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
