The Software Engineer works with a team of software, network and systems engineers to design, implement, and deploy software which meets customer requirements, scales easily, and supports deployment in highly available environments. The role includes architecture and design of software components that leverage technologies such as virtualization, micro services, SDN, NFV, and Big Data platforms.
Responsibilities- Supports engineering projects by developing software solutions; conducting tests and inspections; preparing reports and calculations.
- Occasionally supervises associate engineers.
- Understands system protocols, how systems operate and data flows; aware of current technology benefits.
- Independently develops a full software stack; understands building blocks, interactions, dependencies, and tools required to complete software and automation work; engages in independent study of current technology.
- Technical Leadership
- Collaborates with technical teams and utilizes system expertise to deliver technical solutions.
- Continuously learns new technologies.
- Technical Writing
- Writes basic documentation on how technology works; contributes clear documentation for new code and systems used.
- Documents system designs, presentations, and business requirements for consumption at the engineer level.
- Technology Strategy
- Contributes to emerging technologies to deliver business goals.
- Understands current technology that supports business goals; understands system protocols, how systems operate and data flows.
- Aware of current technology benefits; independently develops a full software stack; understands building blocks, interactions, dependencies, and tools required to complete software and automation work.
- Independent study of current technology is expected; interact with system engineers to define system requirements and automation needs.
- Innovation
- Presents new ideas to improve existing systems, processes, or services using new frameworks.
- Expresses new perspectives from independent study of the industry.
- Reviews current company processes to highlight questions driving process refinement.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering (Required)
- 2-4 years technical engineering experience
- 2-4 years of experience with iOS and Swift tools

Base Pay Range: $92,500 - $166,800
Corporate Bonus Target: 15%
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The actual starting pay will vary based on location, qualifications, and experience.
At T-Mobile, employees are eligible for annual bonuses or incentives based on role and performance.
